EXPERIENCES

Classic

A classic African safari is one of the most iconic ways to experience the continent’s extraordinary wildlife, people and landscapes. This style of safari offers a blend of adventure, cultural immersion, and authenticity that’s hard to beat. Staying in hand-picked, small, sustainable and luxurious, tented camps and lodges; our guests enjoy a sense of being “close to nature” without sacrificing comfort. These safaris are typically set in some of Africa’s most extraordinary reserves, like the Serengeti, Maasai Mara, and Ngorongoro Crater, offering prime wildlife viewing in an authentic, immersive way.

Walking

If you enjoy nature, being active and a more immersive, hands-on experience, a walking safari could be a great fit. It gives you a chance to connect with the environment on a deeper level—feeling the earth beneath your feet, hearing the sounds of the bush up close, and observing wildlife in a way that’s more intimate and personal. You’re not just watching animals from a vehicle; you’re learning about the intricate aspects of life in the wild. We believe a fabulous guide on safari is key, pointing out tracks, plants and their medicinal uses as well as the behaviors of animals.

Beach and Bush

After the excitement of the bush, unwinding on the pristine beaches of the less travelled Tanzanian Islands, or the Kenyan coast provides a relaxing contrast. Snorkeling, diving, dhow cruises, and exploring vibrant, centuries old markets are all on offer. The ease of travel between these destinations and the variety of activities available make it a wonderful choice for a well-rounded family vacation.

Great Migration

The Great Wildebeest Migration is a must-see spectacle that captivates travelers of all ages. This annual epic, involving over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles traversing the plains of the Serengeti and Maasai Mara, offers unparalleled wildlife encounters. The big cats are plentiful and the night noises are epic. Between July and October dramatic river crossings of wildebeest leaping into the Mara River hoping to make it safely to the other side, are sensational to say the least. For families, safaris are tailored to include child-friendly accommodation, educational programs, and engaging activities like bush picnics and star-gazing. Couples can indulge in romantic experiences like hot-air balloon rides at dawn, followed by a champagne breakfast in the savannah. Whether you seek adventure, romance, or family bonding, witnessing this natural phenomenon is a bucket-list experience that promises wonder and lasting memories.

Off the Beaten Track

At Seedpod we like to live off the beaten track, feel alive and go on adventures. The more remote the better, filled with excitement and moments that are etched into our souls forever. Often, we drive or fly over miles and miles of Africa; raw, wild and untouched. We love a night or two under the stars or hiking in remote jungles to find chimpanzees. We sit with Africa’s people from deep inside their tribal territories, and witness wildlife and landscapes in far flung places. This is Africa as we live it and love it.

The photos featured on Seedpod: In the making of the Seedpod Safaris website, authenticity is very important to us. 95% of these photos are from our private family collection, of a life lived (sometimes too close to the edge!)in the remote wilderness of Africa. Some are not perfect, but they are taken by us, glimpses of time gone by and moments we treasured.
