OUR STORY
Seedpod is the result of our passion, bred from a lifetime in the wilderness. Run by a third generation African. Seedpod pride’s itself on the deep rooted respect for the communities and landscapes that raised and shaped our family, which in turn guides our approach to your safari. We can’t wait to show you our way of life.

Cathy
Going on to raise a family in tents, and homeschool (until long division featured in the curriculum!) in the remote Maasai Mara, Cathy has always loved adventure. The more spiritual member of the Heath clan, her mornings start with sunrise yoga and a quiet cup of tea. During her time in Tanzania, Cathy discovered her passion for the tourism industry. Traveling from the majestic Mahale Mountains to the remote expanse of Ruaha, she realized sharing her love of adventure in Africa was what she wanted to do. With nearly ten years of experience in the tourism industry, Cathy is dedicated to creating bespoke safaris for people from all corners of the globe. Her passion and extensive knowledge of Africa can be seen in the design of Seedpods exceptional African safaris.

Justin
Cathy’s husband and a third generation Kenyan, he grew up on a ranch in southern Kenya, where his childhood was spent immersed in the wilderness—learning the skills of the tribesmen and escaping to fish whenever possible. With over 15 years of experience in conservation, his journey began with establishing and managing multiple conservancies in the Maasai Mara. Today, he leads Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia, bringing unparalleled insight into many of the destinations we feature. An avid fly fisherman, his adventures span from the remote shores of Lake Turkana and the deep seas of the Kenyan coast to the eastern highlands of Zimbabwe and beyond. Deeply passionate about conservation, and consciously committed to sustainability, he is proud to support Cathy in bringing Seedpod to life.

The photos featured on Seedpod: In the making of the Seedpod Safaris website, authenticity is very important to us. 95% of these photos are from our private family collection, of a life lived (sometimes too close to the edge!)in the remote wilderness of Africa. Some are not perfect, but they are taken by us, glimpses of time gone by and moments we treasured.
